Srila Prabhupada's Poetry - Vrndavane Bhajana - Devotees do not Imitate the Lord

(1)
maha-vadanya isvara - sri-gaura-sundara
tanhara amrta-vani madhura mukhara

Sri Gaura-sundara, the beautiful Supreme Personality of Godhead, is the most magnanimous personality. His nectarean instructions to us are sweet and profound to hear.

(2)
bharata bhumite janma haila yanhara
tanhara vanite kara paropakara

His instruction was that whoever has taken birth in the holy land of India, should please work for the benefit of others.

(3)
nirjane asvadana se ta' prabhura lila
lila anukarana nahe vaisnavera khela

One of the Lord's own pastimes was to remain in solitude, tasting and relishing transcendental topics. But it is never the devotee's practice to imitate the Lord's confidential pastimes.

(4)
seva karya vaisnavera nahe asvadana
jada-dehe asvadana nahe sambhavana

When the devotees engage in the activities of devotional service, they never attempt to personally relish nectar as the Lord did. Tasting and relishing transcendental pastimes is actually impossible for those covered by a dull material body.
