Srila Prabhupada's Poetry - Vrndavane Bhajana - Caste Consciousness Condemned

dehatma-buddhi yara sei jada deha
sei dehe asvadana nahi kare keha

One who is deluded by gross bodily consciousness identifies with the material body. While trapped in this temporary covering, no one can ever relish transcendental enjoyment, as the Lord did.

vaisnavete jati-buddhi prabala pracura
lila-asvadane kintu bada bahadura

There are some persons who shamelessly judge the Lord's devotees in terms of their caste or external bodily nature, but these same critics consider themselves quite expert in relishing transcendental pastimes.

daka gharera kerani (eka) gosai thakura
babaji pranama kare tahare pracura

For example, there is a clerk at the post office who is a revered caste gosvami. The local babajis always go there and offer him respects again and again.

gosai thakura kare jati-abhimana
nityananda prabhu-vare kare khana khana

But even that supposedly exalted gosvami is puffed up about his own caste by birth. Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the best of Lords, smashes these misconceptions to pieces.
