Testimonials - Ashok Aklujkar

I am not an expert on Swami A.C. Bhaktivedanta's life, on the Krishna consciousness movement, or on the devotional literature of India. My field is linguistic philosophy and other branches of Sanskrit literature. However, as one who has occasionally been to the temples established by Swami Bhaktivedanta and has read some of the literature written and inspired by him, I can say that I am awed by what he achieved. Unlike many other teachers from India, he did not modify the message of his teachers to suit the West. His requirements were strict by contemporary standards. Yet he managed to turn a large number of young Western adults away from a life of drugs, sex, and mindless consumption. He filled them with a sense of purpose, love, devotion, and amazing enthusiasm. This is an outstanding example of what dedication can achieve.
